Dancing for cash

dance marathon total

Is this cool, or what?  Gotta love schools that have a heart and can turn a fun event into a giant fund raiser.

High school dance marathon raises nearly $100,000 for charity

dance marathonStudents at Floyd Central High School in Indiana danced for hours and hours on Saturday, raising nearly $100,000 for a children’s hospital in Indianapolis.

The students raised $94,867.62 to benefit Riley Hospital for Children, well above their goal of $70,000. Last year they raised just over $65,000.

The marathon, which was lasted from 1 to 9 p.m., included more than just dancing, but participants had to stay on their feet the whole time.

More than 70 schools hold dance marathons benefiting Riley Hospital.   It’s a big deal
